- Make sure that your work is appropriate for the journal in terms of scope; refer to the Aims & Scope of the journal for more information.
- Ensure that your work had been conducted in accordance with the standard publication ethics, relevant research ethics especially those involving humans and animals, and other standard reporting guidelines. Provide relevant documents to editors as proof that approvals have been secured. For works governed by specific guidelines, provide relevant documents---typically reporting guidelines checklist---to the editors.
- Read the Instructions for Authors and compose your work accordingly. Prepare manuscript in editable format. Format the citations and references according to the journal’s recommended style. Present your data in a concise and effective fashion, generally in the form of figures and tables.
- Contributing authors retain the copyright of their works published in the journal. The articles are published under the license of Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).
- Ensure that the author list is confirmed and has been agreed upon by all co-authors prior to submission. Author list is considered definitive at the time of receipt by the editors.
- All authors have given their explicit approval to submit the manuscript to the journal for consideration of publication.
- All submitted manuscripts will be screened prior to publication using iThenticate to verify originality. More screenings may be conducted if necessary.
- The work described has not been published elsewhere, except in the form of a preprint, an abstract, a published lecture, or an academic thesis. The manuscript is also not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- Upon acceptance, the manuscript cannot be published elsewhere in the same form and electronically, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the publisher.
File Format
The manuscript, including figures, tables, and text graphics, must be prepared in editable format. Manuscripts prepared in PDF format will not be accepted for consideration. Ideally, manuscript should be prepared in the editable format of .doc/.docx for Word files and .tex for LaTeX files.
Reviewers Suggestions and Exclusions
Authors are recommended to suggest 4–6 potential reviewers for manuscripts submitted. There is no guarantee that the suggested reviewers will be approached by the editors. Please supply names, institutional email addresses and profile homepage URLs of the recommended reviewers. The suggested reviewers must not be the co-authors' present collaborators or have collaborated on any of the manuscript's publications in the previous three years. Besides, the suggested reviewers should be affiliated to institutes distinct from the submitting authors’ current institutes. Editorial Board members of this journal, whose areas of interest and expertise meet the scope of the submitted works, can be nominated as potential reviewers.
While authors are given the option to suggest potential reviewers for the peer-review process, the qualifications and potential conflicts of interest of all recommended reviewers will be carefully checked before they are invited to review.
Authors may also suggest names of no more than three scholars who should be excluded from reviewing their submitted works. Aside from their names, provide the email addresses and justifications on why they ought to be excluded. There is no guarantee that the nominated scholars will be excluded from participating in the peer-review process.
Authorship
Authors are individuals who have made substantial contributions related to the following in the submitted works:
- Conception and design of the study, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data;
- Preparation of the original draft of the manuscript and/or critical revision of intellectual content;
- Final approval of the version to be submitted and published.
All authors should agree to be held accountable for all aspects of the work to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work will be appropriately investigated and resolved if ever raised by readers, reviewers and editors of the journal.
Changes to Authorship
Authorship changes are typically not taken into consideration by the journal's editors after a manuscript has been submitted. The authorship list and author order should be carefully considered by the authors, and a definitive author list should be provided at the time of original submission.
This journal's policy regarding authorship and its changes is as follows:
- Every author's information must be entered into the submission system and included in the manuscript.
- Authorship changes will only be permitted when the request is made before acceptance but with the journal editor's permission and on reasonable grounds. The changes may include addition, removal, or rearrangement in the author list.
- Requests to change authorship should be made by the corresponding author, accompanied by a cover letter containing justification for the journal editors’ consideration. All authors, including those being added or removed, must confirm that they approve of the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of the author list through signing on the cover letter.
- Whether such request will be accommodated and when it will be executed lie with the discretion of the journal’s Editors-in-Chief.
- Note that under normal circumstances, publication of an accepted work may be put on hold if the authors have made a request for authorship change.
- For published articles, any authorship change, if approved by the journal editor, will be reflected accordingly, along with publication of a Correction.
Graphical Abstract
A graphical abstract must be included in your submission.
The graphical abstract should provide a succinct, visual summary of your article's content that is intended to draw in a large readership. A graphical abstract will help readers better understand your research and increase the visibility of your article online. Below is a list of preparation requirements for graphical abstract:
- Our preferred file types for graphical abstracts are TIFF, EPS, PDF, or MS Office files.
- Graphical abstract should be submitted through the online submission system as a separate file.
A minimum of 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w) or proportionally larger is required, and the image must be readable at 5 × 13 cm with a standard screen resolution of 96 dpi.
Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing
It is anticipated that the usage of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in content creation will grow. However, AI and AI-assisted technologies should only be used to enhance the readability and language of manuscripts (including idiomacy, readability and coherence improvements) under human guidance; they should not be used to perform core investigative tasks during the writing process, such as generating scientific insights, evaluating and interpreting data, or drawing scientific conclusions.
AI and AI-assisted technologies can only be utilized under human supervision and control. They should also not be cited as authors for the submitted works.
If AI tools were used in polishing the papers, please indicate so in the Acknowledgments section by stating the name of the tool and specifying its use in your work.
We will continue to keep an eye on developments and modify the policy as needed.

Front Matter
- Article title.Article title should be clear and educational. Please refrain from using formulas and abbreviations unless they are well-known and widely accepted (e.g., DNA).
- Author names.Provide each author's given name (first) and family name (last). The authors' order ought to correspond with their order keyed in the submission system. Make sure that every name is spelled correctly.
- Include affiliation details of all authors. Each author may have multiple affiliations stated here, all of which should be represented using superscript Arabic numbers arranged in sequential order both in the author list and in the affiliation part. The affiliation labels should be inserted right after the author's name and before the relevant affiliation details. The affiliation details should include Department/Unit, School/Faculty/Center/Institute, University/College, City, State/Province/Prefecture, Country/Region.
- Corresponding author.Corresponding authors are the primary point of contact who are in charge of the manuscript's correspondence during the entire editorial and peer-review, publication, and post-publication processes. This duty includes responding to any follow-up questions on your data, methods, materials, and results. Indicate the corresponding author on the title page (front matter) using an asterisk (*). Email address, preferably the institute-linked email ID, of the corresponding author must be provided.
- Address. A "current address" (sometimes known as the "permanent address") can be included in the affiliation part for author who has moved following completion of the work detailed in the manuscript or for author who was visiting at the time of article acceptance and publication. The author's primary affiliation address must remain the address where they completed the work. For this kind affiliation, use Arabic number in superscript and include “(current address)” at the end of the affiliation detail.
Abstract
You must submit a succinct and accurate abstract. The goal of your study, key findings, and important conclusions should all be succinctly stated in the abstract. Avoid utilizing unusual or non-standard abbreviations. Make sure they are defined in the abstract from the outset if any are necessary to include.
Keywords
For indexing purposes, a minimum of three keywords must be provided. English should be used for writing keywords. Refrain from using compounded terms joined by "and" or "of" as keywords. We advise against using abbreviations in keywords unless they are well-established in the industry.
Main Text
Make sure the manuscript is written in compliance with the journal's basic requirements by dividing it into clearly defined sections that cover all necessary components.
- Introduction
The introduction should provide a sufficient background for the submitted work and clearly state the research objectives. Refrain from writing a thorough literature review or results summary. - Material and Methods
The materials and methods section should provide sufficient details about materials and methods used. Transparency in this regard is very much appreciated to allow the work to be reproduced separately by a different research team.
If the approach has already been published, give a synopsis and cite the original work.
Use quotation marks and cite the source if you are quoting directly from a previously published method.
Explain any changes you have made to current practices. - Theory and Calculation
The theory section should lay the foundation for further research by building on the information you provided in the article's introduction. The computations part should show how to move from a theoretical basis to a practical one. - Results
This section presents the findings of the investigation. Furthermore, the results of statistical analysis must be presented as text or, if appropriate, tables or figures. Authors should only highlight and summarize the most important observations. It is also necessary to provide details on each primary and secondary result that was described in the Methods section. Supplementary File may contain additional or auxiliary parts and technical information. - Discussion
This section should discuss the relevance of the findings in light of prior research as well as the limitations of the study. Future research directions could also be suggested. Both Results and Discussion sections can be merged as one single section. - Conclusions
The conclusion section should include the main conclusions of the investigation. We encourage presenting the conclusions in a distinct section.
Glossary
Provide definitions of field-specific terms that are used in the manuscript article in a separate list.
Abbreviations
When an abbreviation/acronym appears for the first time in the abstract, main body, figure, or table captions, it should be defined in full term and used consistently from then on. Unless they are used at least three times in the text, non-standard abbreviations are prohibited. Common abbreviations, such as DNA, RNA, ATP, etc., can be used without defining them in full terms. Except for those that are commonly used, titles and keywords should not contain abbreviations.
Footnotes
We recommend sparing use of footnotes. Footnotes should be consecutively numbered if included in the manuscript. Make use of system functions to incorporate footnotes into text automatically.
Multimedia Files
General requirements for multimedia files are as follows:
- Only video or audio files in English will be accepted.
- Simplify the presentation to ease understanding. For video files, the frames should be clear, and for audio files, the speech speed should be moderate.
- A brief overview of the video or audio files in English (e.g., text notes, explanations or descriptions, etc.) should be given in the manuscript (as ‘Supplemental Materials’).
- The video or audio files should be limited to a size of no more than 500 MB. Set the video aspect ratio as 4:3 or 16:9 (widescreen). The video screen size should not be less than 1280 × 720, the video frame rate should not be less than 24 frames per second, and the video bit rate should not be lower than 5 Mbps (the original video).
- Authors are advised to employ professional software to produce high-quality video files.
- Limit the time span of surgical video to less than 20 minutes with brief narration or description. Avoid affixing logo or watermark of the hospital on the screen for a prolonged time span of the video.
- Avoid inserting music into video, unless a written permission of copyright holder of the music audioclip has been secured for reuse.
- Acceptable file format: (videos) mp4, flash video (.flv), WMV, MPEG, AVI, or rm format; (audio files) mp3 or WAV format. Ideally, we suggest an MP4 video codec with H264 and an audio codec with AAC.
Please submit the file(s) via editors@biomat-trans.com.
Back Matter
Supplementary Material
Supplementary materials such as applications, images, and sound clips can be submitted to support or enhance the main article but is not essential to understanding the core arguments or results. This helps keep the main paper concise and focused while still offering full transparency and reproducibility. Please cite all supplementary files in the manuscript text. Authors must format and prepare the supplementary files according to the journal’s requirements; conciseness and transparency are essential in this regard. The supplementary materials should be submitted alongside the submission.
Be aware that all supplementary materials provided will appear online in the exact same file type as received. The production team will not typeset or format these files.
Please include a concise, descriptive caption for each supplementary file describing its content and update the supplementary files if, at any stage of the publication process, you wish to make changes to submitted supplementary materials.
Acknowledgments
Include any individuals who provided you with help during your research, such as help with language, writing, or proofreading, in the acknowledgments section.
In our journal, acknowledgments ought to be in a distinct section that comes right before the list of references. Do not include acknowledgments on your title page, as a footnote to your title, or anywhere else in your article other than in the separate acknowledgements section.
Funding
All authors are required to declare the support they received to carry out the research during the initial submission. The journal does not accept removal of funding sources during the revision process without an appropriate explanation. Please notice that such request may trigger a manuscript rejection. Authors should declare all financial support and sources that were used to perform the research, analysis, and/or article publication. Financial support is generally in the form of grants, royalties, consulting fees, and others. Organizations that provide the grants and grant numbers should be declared. If not applicable, state "None."
Conflict of Interests
Authors are required to declare any possible financial and/or non-financial conflicts of interest in the cover letter and back matter, as well as confirm about this when submitting manuscript through the submission system. If no conflicts of interest exist, authors are recommended to state, "The authors declare no conflicts of interest." We also recognize that some authors may be bound by confidentiality agreements, in which cases authors need to state, "The authors declare that they are bound by confidentiality agreements that prevent them from disclosing their competing interests in this work."
Author Contributions
Apply the recommended roles in the CRediT Taxonomy. Note that the use of the roles must be appropriate to type of works and article types. Author names should be given as initials. For instance:
Conceptualization: VS and SE; Data curation: SE, YP, EA and VS; Formal analysis: SE and VS; Investigation: SE, YP, EA, DM, and VS; Methodology: SE, YP and AK; Project administration: VS; Resources: YP, AK and VS; Supervision: VS; Validation: SE; Writing–original draft: SE, VS and AK; Writing–review & editing: VS and SE.
Ethics approval and consent to participate
A statement detailing the name of the ethics committee (including the reference number where appropriate) and the informed consent (e.g., written and/or verbal) obtained must appear in the manuscripts describing works involving humans and animals.
Research involving human subjects, human material or human data must be performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by an appropriate ethics committee. An informed consent to participate in the study should also be obtained from participants, or their parents or legal guardians for children under 16.
For papers describing studies involving animals and primary cells obtained directly from humans/animals, a statement on ethical approval, as detailed above, must be included.
Consent for publication
Indicate if informed consent (e.g., written and/or verbal) for publish data and/or images of human subjects has been obtained. Efforts must be made by the authors to at least mask or conceal any identifying information of the patients that appear in writing or within photographs.
Availability of data
Declare how readers may access the data used in the study described in the manuscript. If data have been deposited in data repository, state the repository name and accession number.
Appendices
Use uppercase letters ‘A’, ‘B’, C’ and so on to label different parts of an Appendix, depending on the content nature. Formulas and equations in appendices should be given distinct numbers using formats like Equations A1, A2, etc. Apply the same labeling logic to the accessory tables and figures.
Citations and References
It is the author's responsibility to ensure that their references are accurate, comprehensive, and properly cited in the text. References should be numbered according to their order of appearance in the main text, including those in figures and tables. Use Arabic numerals in superscript to indicate references in text, tables, and legends. References should be placed at the end of the manuscript. Cite the sources in adherence to the AMA style. If there are more than six authors or editors, list the first three and then "et al." The issue number in parentheses should come after the volume number. For papers accepted for publication, indicate in the reference item with “in press”; DOI should be given if the paper has been published online. Cite works that are in preparation or have been submitted but not yet accepted in the text, not in the References list, as unpublished experiments or personal communications.
Indicate references by adding a number within square brackets in the text. If author names are mentioned, insert the citation numbers next to the names stated. For instance, “AMAX has been found to affect the progression of breast cancer. [23] Nevertheless, Huang et al. [24] demonstrated that this protein plays very negligible role in disease development.”
Examples of references formatted as per the AMA style are as follows (always include DOIs, if available):
